The Essential Uncle Bonsai!

Although you could say Uncle Bonsai was an acoustic-folk trio band, their songs are well written, sensitive and usually absurdly comical. They got some national attention from Dr. Demento for "Penis Envy", "Fat Boys" and "Boys Want Sex in the Morning" - with the resulting FCC problems. But songs like "Silent Night", which refers to loosing a father, boosts Uncle Bonsai to an appeal beyond traditional folk music -- into the unexpected. 

For anyone that lived in Seattle during the 80's, this is probably deja'vue since the band was extremely popular (and my roots are showing).
