E.C. Avengers: Kill Bill O'Reilly

In the wake of Bill O'Reilly leading the GOP charge against Obama, I give you the East Coast Avengers. Musically, this is great even if you don't think you like Hip-hop (like me - generally). It's got that contagious DIY fed-up, garage punk attitude. But credit needs to go to Billo, who graciously gave the world so much inspiring material to work with. The Boston based East Coast Avengers lit up a minor storm with this release (here). Even MySpace banned the songs.

"... Other critics were less avuncular. Bloggers swarmed the track like piranhas on a sack of bleeding puppies. The backlash was as massive as anything seen since Body Count’s ”Cop Killer” back in the days when dinosaurs ruled the earth. Rap snobs sneered, liberals tut–tutted, prissy indie nosegay sniffing naysayers thought the track a mere ”gimmick”, and Republicans went totally fucking nutzoid. The band were called ”jigs” and ”niggers” and told they were living proof that African–Americans don’t deserve reparations for slavery.
"And best of all ”Kill Bill” really, really got on former Fox News’ favorite rent–a–conservative–person–of–color Michelle Malkin’s tits. ”Don’t they have anything better to do?” she wrote on her blog. ”Rides to pimp? Ho’s to diss? Bling to steal?”
"For the record the East Coast Avengers—Esoteric (aka Seamus Ryan), Trademarc (aka Mark Predka) and DJ DC the Midi Alien (aka Darryl M. Christy)—are all white." --  Philadelphia Weekly

It's not likely that creditors would balk about taking candy from a baby. O'Reilly is about that easy. You can grab ECA's follow-up track, The Day Hope Died, which was their response to the many threats lobbied against Obama's life. ECA has done a good job when officials and news media wouldn't stand their ground. But it still doesn't quite equal out.

UPDATE: I hate to admit it, but even Bill O'Reilly can be funny, I guess. He's got a new line of t-shirts out with a graphic "Gitmo: When America Worked" that is hilliarious - (a sick sense of humor?) If I didn't hate the the idea of him making money off this disaster ... How could I ever sink so low?
