Flickering Flame
I needed a break from halloween. The album, Flickering Flame from Roger Waters, wasn't released in the U.S. and many of the cd's issued elsewhere included nasty computer-damaging DRM. It was also a great release which brought together songs from several earlier solo albums and added a couple of new songs. What I liked best were the songs chosen. When combined on a single cd, they seemed to add up to a different perspective from what they had been when the songs were originally released twenty years earlier. That made Waters seem eerily prophetic in the 80's, similar to Matt Johnson's, The The was.
But then, maybe it was reading Pailn claimed that yesterday's report released about her ethics proved she did nothing wrong or knowing that a few people believe her (sorta like a used car man saying "trust me") putting such a surrealist spin on life that this fit halloween this year. Whatever it was, Flickering Flame seemed to say it best today.
