The Pirate Google

A new website has appeared - The Pirate Google, a mash-up of The Pirate Bay and Google (neither TPB or Google were involved in creating the website). There's a disclaimer stating the intention is to show people how similar Google is to The Pirate Bay by indexing, sorting and locating bit torrent files. Neither site hosts the actual files. 

One difference between Google and TPB is that Google links to many other files that are potentially copyright infringing files than TPB attempts to do. So what's the difference between them? Is it really big guys don't get hassled, but little guys do (sorta like U2 lifting copyrighted material was OK, but when Negitavland did the same thing, it was illegal)? This legal case could take awhile. 

"The intention of this site is to demonstrate the double standard that was exemplified in the recent Pirate Bay Trial. Sites such as Google offer much the same functionality as The Pirate Bay and other Bit Torrent sites but are not targeted by media conglomerates such as the IFPI as they have the political and legal clout to defend themselves unlike these small independent sites.

To make matters worse, the Judge in the TPB trial seems to have a significant interest for making TPB go away. From sitting on the board of one of the organizations, to being on the same boards with prosecutors, and up to announcing the verdict before the  jury did, ,just doesn't add up to a fair trial. The Pirates Bay lawyer is asking for a mistrial.
