Marillion Christmas Recordings 98-99
In 1998, Marillion released a special Christmas CD to their fan club. They usually included a season's greetings, a thanks for their support and a preview of up-coming albums. They only produce enough for current members.
If your not aware of it, Marillion really meant it when they thanked their fan club for support because their fans financed the band to continue after Marillion separated from their label. Marillion pioneered the business model for larger independent bands and they still rely heavily on direct fan support. This is one time when joining a fan club really pays off. The first year included a karaoke contest for members.
