Tuxedomoon
Few bands have been around as long as Tuxedomoon - or have been as innovative. With every release Tuxedomoon seems to experiment with new directions. They started in 1977 and signed with Ralph Records for their first two releases in 1981. Soon afterward they moved to Europe which was more in tune with their experimental electronic, new wave, avant-garde, and progressive-style sounds. Tuxedomoon has produced a number of hits in Europe over the last 30+ years, yet remain fairly unknown in the U.S.
Tuxedomoon has recently been on several new tours, some have included reuniting with Winston Tong. Their MySpace website includes recent material.
Tuxedomoon joins the ranks of the under-rated and overlooked bands. They may also illustrate how much our musical choices may have been narrowed by marketplace control in the U.S.
