Noa: Gold

If you frequent international music blogs then you might have run into Noa before now, yet it took me about 10 years until I was able to find a cd with her song "I Don't Know" on it even though many of her albums were sung in english. Very frustrating. Fortunately she's gaining steam in the US due to her soothing voice, exotic arrangements and intriguing lyrics. Her music is timeless, deeply personal and unequaled by anyone else I've ever heard. Gold is a collection of her early singles.

"Influenced by singer/songwriters such as Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, and Leonard Cohen. Noa has recorded numerous songs in Italian, French, Spanish, Galician, English, Arabic, Hebrew, Thai, Hindi, Yemenite Jewish and folk & Arabic pop songs as well as Jewish and Christian prayers translated into Hebrew and English." -- Wikkepedia

That song "I Don't Know" was on her first CD in 1994, just called "Noa". Produced by Pat Metheny and Steve Rodby. I've got it around here someplace. I think the "Gold" CD is better though, Thanks.

'Achinoam Nini Gil Dor' must really be hard to find, it's not even on allmusic.com
