Christmas Presents from Paul Revere
"It's a bizarre concoction of holiday cheer and humor that could have only come from Paul Revere and The Raiders during the 60's"
I haven't forgotten y'all and here's proof! This is one of the most original Christmas albums I've heard to date, Paul Revere and The Raiders, Christmas Presents ... and Past. According to Mark Lindsey's website, the single, Rain, Sleet, or Snow, was never released because even radio dj's hated it."Just imagine that you’re an executive at Columbia Records, expecting an album of “White Christmas” and “Winter Wonderland.” But what they got was an album of Vietnam protest, boozy singalongs, hippie humor, catchy tunes (as always), and studio shenanigans; like the two minutes of kazoo at the end. Columbia hated it. DJs hated it. Even the liner-note author of the Complete Columbia Singles didn’t think much of it." Goldmine Magazine
They had no idea what compliments their statements would become. Enjoy!
